AEGIS — Privacy Policy

AEGIS is committed to protecting your privacy and being fully transparent about the data we handle. This policy outlines our data practices in two modes — select the mode that matches how you use the AEGIS platform. We follow applicable data protection regulations including GDPR and the IT Act 2000, and we never sell your personal information to third parties.

Registered User Mode — Full Account Access

Account & Identity Data

When you create an AEGIS account, we collect the information you provide directly to us in order to establish and manage your identity on the platform.

          Passwords are never stored in plain text. We use industry-standard bcrypt hashing with salting.
          Even AEGIS staff cannot view your password.

Device & Session Data

To ensure account security and a consistent experience, we log certain technical details each time you sign in or interact with our services.

IP address and approximate geographic location (country / region)
Device type, operating system, and browser / client version
Session tokens and authentication timestamps
Login history and active sessions (for security management)

          You can view and terminate active sessions from your Account Security settings at any time.

We collect data about how you interact with AEGIS features to improve the platform and personalise your experience.

This data is used internally for analytics, product improvement, and support purposes only. It is never shared with advertising networks.

Payment Information

If your AEGIS plan involves a subscription or purchase, payment processing is handled exclusively by certified third-party providers (Stripe / Razorpay). AEGIS does not store your raw card details.

          All payment data is PCI-DSS compliant. Your full card number, CVV, and expiry are never stored on AEGIS servers.

Third-Party Integrations & OAuth

If you choose to sign in via Google, Discord, or another third-party provider, we receive only the data that provider shares under your permission scope.

Public profile name and email address from the OAuth provider
We do not access your contacts, calendar, or private messages
You may disconnect third-party integrations at any time from Settings

Data Retention & Your Rights

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is purged within 30 days from all live systems and within 90 days from backups.

Guest / Anonymous Mode — No Account Required

What We Do NOT Collect

When using AEGIS without registration, we have no interest in identifying you. The following data is explicitly never collected in guest mode:

No Name No Email No Phone No Payment Data No Account Profiles No Login Data

          You remain entirely anonymous. No personally identifiable information is ever requested, stored, or processed in guest mode.

Anonymous Analytics

We may collect minimal, fully anonymised technical data to understand how our platform is used and to fix issues. This data cannot be traced back to any individual.

General page views and navigation paths (no user ID attached)
Approximate region / country (derived from IP, not stored raw)
Browser type and screen resolution for compatibility testing
Crash reports and error logs (no personal context)
Aggregate feature usage counts

          IP addresses collected during analytics are immediately hashed and discarded — we retain only aggregated, non-identifiable counts.

Without registration, AEGIS uses only functional and essential cookies necessary for the platform to operate. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

No third-party advertising cookies are ever set

          You may clear all cookies through your browser at any time — AEGIS will function normally and no data will be lost since nothing is tied to your identity.

Content You Submit as a Guest

Some AEGIS features allow you to submit queries, inputs, or content without an account. Here is how we handle that:

Guest-submitted content is processed in real-time and not stored beyond the session
No identifier is linked to your submission — it is treated as anonymous input
Content is not used to build any profile or behavioural model
All submissions are encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3

          Once your session ends, any guest-submitted content is permanently discarded from our servers.

Third-Party Services in Guest Mode

Some AEGIS pages may include resources from trusted third parties (such as fonts or CDN assets). These are kept to a minimum and we ensure they do not track you.

Self-hosted assets are preferred over third-party CDNs wherever possible
No social media tracking pixels or share widgets are loaded
No Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar ad-tracking tools are active in guest mode
Any third-party resource is listed in our Cookie Notice

Upgrading to a Registered Account

Should you choose to create an AEGIS account, you will be clearly informed of the additional data we collect at that point. Registering is entirely optional — many AEGIS features are fully accessible in anonymous mode.

          The choice is always yours. AEGIS is designed to be useful without requiring you to share personal information.
